Mending Circle with Idyllwilde | Saturday March 23 (11am-2pm) | Opelika Art Haus

$60.00

In this workshop you’ll learn hand stitching techniques to repair, reinforce, or simply add your own personal touch to a well-loved garment or household textile. Nadene of Idyllwilde will guide you through your selection of appropriate fabric and stitch technique for your project. A variety of plant-dyed, vintage and repurposed textiles from the Idyllwilde studio will be provided, as well as all other necessary supplies and notions - but feel free to bring your own sewing kit and fabrics.

Plan to bring a garment or textile made of woven (non-stretch or knit) fabric such as denim, cotton shirting or twill with a repair area of no greater than 4” square - a good example would be worn knees, hem, or pockets on jeans, or worn elbows, cuffs, collar, placket or pockets on a shirt or jacket.

Tea, coffee and tasty treats will be provided.

If you have any questions about the item you’d like to repair, feel free to email a photo to Nadene at : nadene@idyllwilde.co
